Having a boxed frame can make mounting F1 shock mounts a real pain. Using weld bungs makes it a simple task and much stronger than nutserts. Bung OD: 3/4". Upper (long) bung length: 1-3/4". Lower (short) bung length: 5/8". 7/16-20 threads. Standard 1018 steel. SOLD AS KIT

Trying to install F1 shock mounts on a fully boxed frame can be a real pain. These bungs are a perfect solution and much stronger than nutserts. Even on a stock, non boxed frame, several builders will still use the bungs for the strength. The kit includes 2 short bungs that just get welded around the diameter and 2 long bungs that are designed to be welded along the width of the frame, prior to boxing. Offering added strength if the car bottoms out on the shock, compared to just welding around the diameter of the bung on both. If the frame is already fully boxed, the kit can still be used just welding around the diameter, as it is still a lot stronger than just a nutsert or bolt going thru the length of the frame.
